WHO ARE WE & OUR MISSION

We are Wildert Mestdagh and Yenno Tellier, two young entrepreneurs in our twenties, driven to make a difference through the sports we love. Together, we founded Cwater TRY, a non-profit (VZW) that purifies seawater into clean drinking water for remote communities in Madagascar.

Our approach is unique: we combine action sports, creative adventures, and grit to create real impact. For 2025, we have a clear and ambitious goal: deliver 200,000 liters of clean water to the village of Tsiandamba, home to over 2,000 people and 300 families.

It’s about more than just water. It’s about using our passion and resources to bring lasting change, ensuring that people in need have access to one of life’s most fundamental necessities.

Every year, TRY hosts the FOCUS Festival, a bold fusion of beach parties, action sports, and art on one of the most stunning locations on earth. Ride with 60 limited-edition kites or sail alongside 130 stunning pirogues from Art Project Focus on a journey to Tsiandamba, where 200,000 liters of clean water are purified through the power of the festival.

But

Focus is not just your standard festival, it’s a life experience. The experience starts at home when receiving your limited edition kite or sail. You don’t just come to Madagaskar with a QR-code but with the biggest entry ticket in the world, a limited edition kite or sail.

The stage is not just a normal stage, it’s built out of 1,250 clean water jugs, filled with drinking

water and donated to the local people. Kite next to your loved ones, sail and party together with local fishermen.

This is FOCUS, where you purify water through art and action sports.

HOW WE PURIFY & DISTRIBUTE WATER

Access to clean water is not guaranteed. Wells can run dry or become contaminated, and seawater is too salty to drink without treatment. Large, fixed desalination plants are expensive to build and maintain, and they only serve one specific area.

Other methods, like water evaporation, can be extremely harmful to the environment. Groundwater, especially in coastal or remote areas, is often polluted with salt and disease-causing organisms.

That’s why portable watermakers are the ideal solution. They provide clean, drinkable water anywhere it’s needed, quickly, efficiently, and without heavy infrastructure or environmental damage.

Our water purification takes place in monthly 3-day expeditions with a team of five people. We use three Rainman 140L/hour watermakers to turn seawater into drinking water directly in the field. Here’s how it works:

1. Seawater is collected in buckets and poured into a large basin.

2. The portable water purification units convert the seawater into clean drinking water.

3. The clean water is stored in yellow 20-liter jerrycans.

4. The village chiefs, peacekeepers, and the local president oversee the monthly distribution to every family.

Each expedition produces 15,000 liters of water, and with twelve expeditions, we reach our target of 200,000 liters for the entire village.

To make this possible, we need your help: one jerrycan costs €10 and holds 20 liters of life-saving water. Transporting them over 800 km of rugged 4x4 terrain is a major challenge that we can only overcome with community support.

FOCUS FESTIVAL: ART, SPORT & WATER IN ACTION

In November 2025, we will launch Focus Festival, the first event where art, extreme sports, music, and water purification come together on the untouched shores of Madagascar.

The heart of the festival: a massive stage shaped like two mirrored F’s, built from at least 1,250 water jerrycans.

Symbolic & functional: each jerrycan will be filled with clean water after the festival and delivered directly to the people of Tsiandamba.

Impact in numbers:

1 jerrycan = €10 = 20 liters of water

1,250 jerrycans = 25 tons of water = 100,000 glasses of hope = 450+ long, refreshing showers

Your contribution matters: buy a jerrycan, help build the stage, and change a family’s life. Together, we can:

- Add more portable watermakers

- Reach more remote villages

- Train local communities to purify water themselves

With Focus Festival & TRY trips, we are turning a small idea into a lasting impact.

Project FOCUS by Wim Tellier: An Unforgettable Art Experience

For the first time ever, kitesurfing will be combined with Project FOCUS by acclaimed artist Wim Tellier. In collaboration with 250 fishermen, Tellier has created a monumental art installation of 130 traditional pirogues, each adorned with custom sails featuring photographs of irises taken using a technique designed by the artist himself. These boats form an 1800-meter-long exhibition that stretches across the beautiful beach of Ankasy Lodge, with the artwork seeming to disappear into infinity.

The Iris, as the purest part of the human body and a window to the soul, is the central theme of this project. By combining the raw power of kitesurfing with the timeless beauty of art, we are creating a truly unique and emotional experience that transcends both sport and culture.

This is the first event of its kind, where 60 kitesurfers will sail from the ocean, seamlessly connecting to the breathtaking art installation on the beach. It's a perfect example of how art and adventure can come together to inspire and elevate each other.
